A Designer Passionate about Interactive Data Visualization, Story Telling & Machine Learning
Hi, Thank you for visiting my page! -my name is Eric Fayad. I’ll let you know how I became a data visualization and information designer!
I previously worked as an animator for a creative startup and as a designer for a screen-printing shop in addition to collaborating with various artists and brands. I enjoy making digital and physical visual art. To share my passion, I also worked as an educator in various after school programs in the Bay Area and at the Children’s Creativity Museum in San Francisco where I nurtured creative confidence and facilitated different kinds of creative workshops, in addition to assisting exhibits development!
It is in these kinds of tinkering environments and creative educational spaces that my passion for information design has been kindled. From Designing curriculum, instruction sheets, breaking down lessons to various audiences, I have developed a sense of information and data driven story telling.
I am currently completing a Master of Science information Design and Data Visualization, a research- and analysis-oriented program focusing on visual interfaces to communicate and explore digital information. Through this practice, I aim to facilitate insightful experiences.
I work with various tools and coding libraries, such as D3, p5js, ggplot, QGIS, ml5… and I explore many possibilities of building with pixels, data and interactivity!
During my academic journey at Northeastern University, I got to learn from several talented colleagues, professors, and collaborators. I am constantly trying to learn something new and refining my craft to make good data visualizations.
