This is an experimental approach to visualization top recorded speed data using animation. The speed of each animal is mapped to the timing of a lap of its according circle. The rhythm of the heart beat is mapped to the beat cycle of the second set of circles.

This is an attempt to use animation to represent the data directly, mapping speed to speed. Motion to motion. It is engaging as the interactivity invites the user to imagine the animals running in laps.
